The art of giving

with two hands

... form the heart

massage training

March 23, 24 & 25

Thai massage, Thai yoga massage, and Thai yoga therapy are names commonly used in the west to refer to a traditional massage modality that is native to Thailand.

A complete Thai massage incorporates a combination of acupressure and yoga-like stretchings. Thai massage is different from many western forms of massage in that there is no oil used, the therapist uses a mat on the floor (instead of a massage table), the client remains completely clothed throughout the session.

Thai massage is to promote good health. Health is not only a matter of the absence of decease but it means total well-being: physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.

In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of Thai massage:

  • History of Thai massage.
  • Overview of the routine.
  • Basic techniques.
  • Body mechanics.
  • Prana (life force) movement.
  • The 10 main sen sib lines (energy lines).
  • Spirituality in Thai massage.
  • Basic anatomy and physiology in relation to Thai massage.
  • Variations for side position, sitting position, hands and arms series, leg stretch, and lying on stomach variation.

At the end of the course, you will be able to give a classic full body one-hour Thai massage.
